Open Letter To Iraqi Government...Set Shoe Thrower FREE

Dear Iraqi Government:

Bush was a LAME DUCK, powerless figure head president for his entire last year in office who was despised by HALF OF THE AMERICAN CITIZENS...simply stated, he was and is a douche bag. Further, if our Congress had done its job, they would have immediately started Impeachment when the Democrats took control of the House and Senate in the 2006 election cycle...simply stated, for most Americans, George Bush was barely President in name only. It is unfair and unjust for Muntazer al-Zaidi to spend three years in an Iraqi prison for throwing a shoe at a despicable, low life man, perhaps the worst President the United States of America has ever had. So, on behalf of ALL AMERICANS THAT DESPISE George W. Bush, for all of us who NEVER considered him our President, I am beseeching you to commute the remainder of Muntazer al-Zaidi's sentence and set him free. If George Bush had any class, he would call for the journalist's release himself.

Respectfully

The Iraqi journalist who was arrested in December after throwing a pair of shoes at President Bush was sentenced to three years in jail today.

After hearing his sentence in a Baghdad courtroom, Muntazer al-Zaidi shouted, "Long live Iraq," The Associated Press reported.

The case attracted worldwide attention and sparked intense debate throughout the Arab world.

His family and attorneys said the sentence was excessively harsh.

"The whole case was politicized," Zaidi's brother Dhirgham, who attended the sentencing, told ABC News. It was "an unjust verdict."

His brother Maytham told ABC News that "my brother didn't follow any political party. He is independent. My brother used to always say that he is a Sunni. He is a Shiite. He represents all the Iraqis."

So then by all accounts of the supporters of this person - its okay to throw things at the President of the United States? Whether you liked him or not, supported him or not, he WAS the President at the time. Assaulting a head of state is not something that is looked kindly upon by anyone (mainly because it then makes THEIR head of state a target). So what happens if/when someone throws boot at Obama??? Do you say ... hey it was just a boot?

You folks need a CLUE...Go look at what happened with the Green Goo incident in England. Sorry, but three years for throwing a shoe at a DICK WEED! What happened to the theory of law, "let the punishment suit the crime"? The man should be GIVEN A MEDAL.

Head of State...politicians including the President of the United States do not get to TAKE OUR RESPECT, they have to EARN IT, and maybe when they get off their pedistals, and get back in touch with the masses that respect will return. I have no interest in blindlyg following President Evita Obama, nor any other freely elected Head of State.

LET THE MAN GO.

I guess you should feel free to throw a shoe or pee on Obama when you get a chance. As Americans should feel free to piss on any other country's head of state.

You people are sheep being led to a slaughter and are too stupid to realize it.

If the U.S. had pursued criminal prosecution for those engaged in war crimes, then Bush would not have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Instead, he was out there parading around as a representative of the USA, when he was never duly elected to this role. He was an imposter, and the Iraqi's don't owe respect to a war criminal. So, what is WRONG with you people who take Bush's side AGAINST the American people and AGAINST the rule of law in the world?!!!

Hopefully, there will be a fund started to support those who oppose dictators across the world, and who stand up for freedom against war criminals.

A SHOE, GREEN GOO, or any other item that does no PHYSICAL HARM to the person it is aimed at is a form of PROTEST, and should be allowed!

What we restrain ourselves from doing because of unjust laws, verse what we would do if it were legal are two different things.

If I could PISS ON OBAMA, would do it for his stand on Illegal Aliens. We have 12.5 Million Americans out of work while over seven million illegal aliens still have jobs. E Verify was stripped out of the Stimulus Bill because Obama said its inclusion would see too many Illegal Aliens losing their jobs...meanwhile, his having it stripped out is going to see over 300,000 Illegal Aliens get Stimulus Jobs.

So yes, if I had the chance, if the Secret Service would not instantly put me in chains, I'd piss on the man as a political statement. He has PISSED on every Main Street American in siding with Illegal Aliens, so turn about should be FAIR PLAY.

George Bush is lucky he made it through the presidency he stole from Al Gore with no more serious consequences than a pair of shoes missing him. Give the shoe throwing journalist a commuted sentence with some public service or something, 3 years in an Iraqi jail is way out of line.

you who are ranting on here with curses and ethnic slurs like "towel head" --do you really think anyone is going to attach any validity to anything you say? I have plenty of choice language for W and I controlled myself, try doing the same.

How about in exchange for a reduced or commuted sentence the Iraqis will agree to cut off his throwing arm and send it to GWB as a souvenir?

While there are rabid Bush haters in this country, he was elected twice so at least half of us did NOT hate GW. So, for the haters, vent if you must, but if you lived in Iraq/Pakistan/Egypt/ and multiple other so called 'enlightened countries' tha you so admire, you would be sitting in a rather nasty jail cell. And that would just be for expressing your opinion out loud. The man threw a shoe at the President of the United States!. His country says thats a crime, therefore he is a criminal and deserves a jail sentence.

One more comment for the ranters who still refuse to believe GW actually won the election. He did, so, the count was actually in his favor despite all the disinformation from the dems. The only reason it was close was because our wonderful all inclusive Democratic party is so all inclusive the get votes from dead people, criminals, illegal immigrants etc. So, Al Gore NEVER WON THE ELECTION. George W Bush WAS the elected President, not once, but twice so get over the hate trip.

For the Pro Bush Cheerleaders in the crowd...first, he was SELECTED in the first 2000 Election, not actually elected.

He was the President of the United States, and some people accepted him as thier President...I was NOT ONE OF THEM, would not bother crossing the street to spit on the man.

Read my post...give the man credit for time served and CALL IT A WASH. Every Illegal Alien in America has committed at least FOUR CRIMES, two of them felonies, but American wants to grant them AMNESTY! Let them live the American dream, but this guy throws a couple of SHOES at a vile, repugnant, pernicious man that happens to be the President and you want him to serve THREE YEARS in an Iraqi Prison?

Scary those BUSH CHRISTIANS!

if it were an american throwing a shoe, then you would have a debate. You cant let other people throw shoes.

Still trying to figure out what we gained from this Iraq thing, it is taking so long. Are we ever going to make money from this country?

I applaud the Iragq government for having the stones to actually convict the guy. I do believe that 3 years might be little much but consider the fact that over in the Middle East you lose a hand for stealing. So 3 years is not that bad in that context. As for the Bush haters, keep in mind he won by a landslide in 1996. The first election was a fiasco but we (citizens of the USA) elected the people who selected the justices that set the judgements into action. You don't just decide you want a do over because you don't like what was done. America - Love it or Leave it!

I have only one regret in this entire shoe thrower incident. And that is that the United States Secret Service didn't blow this guy's head off as he was throwing the first shoe.

and so the Netizens feel they have done their part to make the world a better place, and are off to Starbucks for a Double White Chocolate Latte Surprise as a shoe throwing man spends three years in prison....GOD, this world gets more pathetic by the day!
