Early State To Watch Is Indiana

The early state to watch this evening is Indiana! As the old expression goes, the Democrats have not carried this state in a coon's age, but this night, history could be made. Polling centers in most of Indiana close early (6 PM) with the one exception being Gary (a suberb of Chicago). If the early results have Obama and McCain in close to a dead heat, and if it stays that way until the Gary results come rolling in, Indiana will GO BLUE, and if Indiana goes BLUE, Obama is going to have a MONSTER NIGHT! Having grown up just outside of Jeffersonville, my eyes will be watching this state very closely.

The Horses Are Approaching The Starting Gate

Well Folks, time to get your snack trays in place, freshen up your drinks and get ready for the debate. We are down under half and hour, and the candidates are getting their last minute pep talks and instructions.

Things to look for:

1. Can John McCain sit this close to Obama, and still avoid looking at the man?

2. Do a shot every time John McCain says, "My Friends."

3. Does Ayars come up? If so, how does Obama respond to it?

4. In going for a knockout punch, will John McCain lose his temper tonight?

Political Junkie? Put CSPAN Pre Debate Web Cam On In Back Ground

For all those political junkies out there in Blogger Land, I highly recommend turning on CSPAN's Pre Debate Cam on in the background. For the most part, not a lot happens, but every once in awhile, there is something well worth catching as we move closer to this Town Hall Ruckus.

In breaking news, John McCain is sliding backwards in the electorial vote tallies, while Obama now stands just six points away in Pre-Election figuring from having enough Electorial Votes to be the next president of the United States. (reported on CNN by Rick Sanchez) In more breaking news...Obama has narrow lead in Ohio, and in Indiana McCain's solid RED STATE lead is down to five points. New Hampshire also leaning Obama, and in North Carolina, it is a DEAD HEAT, a toss up state. Wisconsin is starting to look good for Obama who is up by five.

Audience Rules Handed Out

They have just given the audience at tonight's debate the rules. Turn off your cell phones, no clapping, keep quite...the usual diatribe before such an event. Watching CSPAN on one screen here on my laptop, Politics CNN on another, have my twitter box open, and my TV is tuned in to CNN for the debate...I'm ready for the RUMBLE!

Pre Vice Presidential Debate Musings

The C Span pre-debate cam is starting to get a bit interesting, and if people knew they were being watched, they might spend some time looking less like a dork...perfect example is the woman walking around in the PINK winter coat with an orange baseball cap on! TACK A. It is surprising with security what it is in America to see as many back packs as I have noticed so far.

Should be an interesting night, and I am betting on a serious GAFF by Sarah Palin, and would lay odds it will be on You Tube before the debate has even ended. If we hold her to the SAME STANDARD that we hold Joe Biden (equal rights), she does not stand a chance unless Joe Biden falls into her trap, and lets her get away without really answering questions.

A good tactic for Joe Biden...force her to talk about John McCain by starting his answers with something like, "John McCain has said he supports so and so, and his position is blah blah blah, but I think, and then the rest of his answer. This will place her in a position of having to DEFEND John McCain.
