Michelle OBama....Where Are Some White Kids?

No disrespecct meant Michelle OBama, but in the first couple of months that you have been in office, in all the various and assorted press events that involve you and children of varying ages, wondering where WHITE KIDS ARE? I seem to recall that the National Census puts the percentage of Black People in the American Population at around 13 percent. Now, seeing as you are the PEOPLES FIRST LADY, you have a duty to represent and reach out to ALL CHILDREN, not just ones of a ethnic back ground, not just black children. So I ask again, where are the White Children?

WASHINGTON – Twenty-six elementary schoolchildren wielded shovels, rakes, pitchforks and wheelbarrows to help first lady Michelle Obama break ground for a produce and herb garden on the White House grounds.

Crops to be planted in the coming weeks on the 1,100-square-foot, L-shaped patch near the fountain on the South Lawn include spinach, broccoli, various lettuces, kale and collard greens, assorted herbs and blueberries, blackberries and raspberries.

There will also be a beehive.

"We're going to try to make our own honey here as well," Mrs. Obama told the students from Bancroft Elementary School in Washington. The school has its own community garden.

The students will be brought back to the White House next month to help with the planting, and after that to help harvest and cook some of the produce in the mansion's kitchen. The first harvest is expected by late April.

Mrs. Obama said her family has talked about planting such a garden since they moved to the White House in January.

After she spoke, the students were paired off and handed a gardening tool. The first lady joined, with a tool of her own, and together they began raking and scraping up the grass and topsoil, dumping it into wheelbarrows and depositing the contents in a central location.

"Are we done yet?" Mrs. Obama jokingly said at one point. "I want to plant. Let's harvest something."

When the work was finished, the students sat at three nearby picnic tables and were treated to apples, apple cider and cookies baked in the shape of a shovel.

Some of the produce from the garden will be served in the White House, including to the First Family and at official functions. Some crops also will be donated to Miriam's Kitchen, a soup kitchen near the White House where Mrs. Obama recently helped serve lunch.

Assistant chef Sam Kass said the garden will exist year round, and the crops will change based on the seasons.

He gave no estimate on how much produce the garden would yield, but said, "It should be quite a bit, if we're lucky."

In another example of WASTE IN THE WHITE HOUSE, Michelle and Barack Obama frittered away a lot of our tax money by bringing in Earth Wind and Fire to entertain themselves and 130 guests as they entertained the Governors at an UNNECESSARY STATE DINNER. If you look at the menu, figure it was at least $100 a plate for the food alone...curious Barack how you can ASK ME TO TIGHTEN MY BELT while you eat like some gluttonous PIG? You sir DISGUST ME! How much was it to book the band? While we are on the subject, any reason why the Governors could not have STAYED HOME and held their meetings on the Internet? Start LEADING BY EXAMPLE FOOL! (Said in my best Mr. T voice)...hope that Reverend Al Sharpton does not put the NAACP onto me for this post! By the way...someone tell Michelle to stop trying so hard...we really do not need to see the FIRST LADY on a daily basis.

Why is Michelle Obama's Mother Going To White House, and What is The Cost

Other than a scant mention occasionally in the press, there does not seems to be much interest in pursuing the story line on Michelle Obama's mother going with them to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue...that is rather odd. First, is this a historic first, or are there other presidents who have brought their mother's or mother in law into the White House? What does the law say about this...is there proper protocol that must be adhered to?

As example, who is going to pay for the food that Michelle's mother will consume during the four years that she resides in the White House? Considering the quality of the food she will be eating, would not be unreasonable to place a $50 per day per diem on those delicacies. Over the course of a four year presidency, that amounts to $73,000 just in food expenses...is it fair that we taxpayers have to pick up that tab?

Will Michelle's mother have her bed turned down, her room cleaned for her, will she be waited on hand and foot? If she goes out, or travels will she require Secret Service protection, and if so who pays for that bill. Will she be allowed to travel on Air Force One? Does OBama have to reimburse the government when she does? Will she be allowed to travel with Pesident Obama and/or First Lady Michelle Obama on official state business, even though she has no official function...or do the Obama's intend on giving her A JOB that we have to pay the tab on, and just what is that job...further, what are her qualifications, and where in th forumla does nepotism go to far?

I think America deserves some answers from the Obama's, rather than their staff simply informing America..."Michelle's mother will be going to the White House with them." Notice that was not a piece of news let out DURING THE CAMPAIGN.
