Scary, Sarah Palin is talking oil, and it is so obvious that she really does not have any clue in the world, is just too far out there religiously.

First, America's oil supplies are not that good. Secondly, scares the hell out of me when anyone is up there on stage, televsion cameras sending their image all around the world talking about how God has blessed us as a nation with so much oil. Thirdly, we need to GET AWAY FROM OIL as a energy supply, and we need to learn the concept that LESS IS MORE. Perhaps Sarah Palin's down home folksy simplicity works for Alaskan's, and a handful of radical right wing women who have no clue, but she does not, and NEVER SHOULD work for, nor speak America.

On Nuclear Energy, she just promised 45 New Reactors by 2030...first, it cannot be done. We do not have the staff to man 45 new reactors, do not have the expertise to build 45 new reactors by 2030. Even if those obstacles can be overcome, there are not enough parts and manufacturing plants to allow that many to be built by the year 2030. Further, even without cost overruns, you are talking 15 Billion a nuclear reactor...guess who the nuclear industry wants paying the bill? US, as in the American Taxpayer. Now, if we are going to be asked to pay for it, WHERE IS OUR OWNERSHIP? It is NOT THERE. We would pay the build the infrastructure that is supply us our electricity, then turn around and have to PAY FOR THE ELECTRICITY that is being produced...isn't that transfer of wealth, isn't that Socialized Energy?

Lastly...CARBON CREDITS...that is just a way of making the middle class pay a pass through fee FOR NOTHING...it is a con game, a shell game where BIG BUSINESS trades carbon offsets under the guise of being Green, with you and I picking up the tab.

Beluga Whale To Kill Sarah Palin's Beloved Second Bridge To Nowhere?

In a story that seems to have gotten lost in shuffle as Americans concentrate on the upcoming Presidential Election, our Federal Government bitch slapped Alaska’s Governor Palin in placing the Beluga Whale on the endangered species list…something that Sarah Palin venomously opposed. She has even filed a lawsuit opposing the Federal Government’s decision to place Polar Bears on this same list.

Interestingly, her opposition to the Polar Bear and now the Beluga Whale being placed on the Endangered Species List are driven by self serving greed on her part. The first decision of placing the Polar Bear on the Endangered Species list could negatively impact her husband’s fishing business, as well as his financial interests in North Slope Oil Drilling (he works as a independent consultant for BP Oil, and broke his promise to quit that job if his wife were elected Governor).

Sure we all remember the $350 Million Dollar Bridge to Nowhere, the one that Sarah was for before she was against it. Yet, the press has paid scant attention to the second $600 Million Dollar Bridge to Nowhere project, the bridge that would connect to the small outpost of 7,000 known as Wasilla, Alaska. If you are grabbing your calculators, the Federal Government would be spending about $89,000 per citizen in Wasilla to build this Second Bridge To Nowhere. Thankfully, Friday’s decision on the Beluga Whale’s greatly complicates this bridge project, possibly kills it…which is a good thing, since Sarah Palin’s running mate ferociously opposed the project as far back as 2005.

The listing has the potential to affect major Alaska projects including an expansion of the Port of Anchorage, additional offshore oil and gas drilling, a proposed $600 million bridge connecting Anchorage to Palin's hometown of Wasilla and a massive coal mine 45 miles south of Anchorage.

NOAA list’s some obstacles to recovery of the Beluga Whale which include:

· Beach strandings of beluga whales;
· Continued development within and along upper Cook Inlet and the cumulative effects on important beluga habitat;
· Oil and gas exploration, development, and production;
· Industrial activities that discharge or accidentally spill pollutants;
· Disease;
· Predation by killer whales.

Sarah Palin is already on record as opposing the Beluga Whale’s Endangered Listing, as well as the one declared for Alaska’s declining Polar Bear population, questioning the Scientific Conclusions of some of the world’s foremost Scientific Experts. Her biggest objections to these two listings are financial ones, as these listings hinder oil and natural gas drilling, as well as threatening her Second Bridge to Nowhere Project.

The Department of Interior has proposals that would make new oil leases available in the Cook Inlet with a value estimated at or above $1.38 Billion of new Energy Resources. The decision to put the Beluga Whale and Polar Bears on the Endangered Species List puts these leases in serious jeopardy.

Thanks to a Earmark from Republican Rep. Don Young (who has property interests near the bridge), $42 million dollars has already been wasted studying Sarah Palin’s second bridge to nowhere, which would route traffic across a narrow finger of water known as Knik Arm inlet and towards Wasilla. Meanwhile, banking on Sarah Palin’s pull as Governor of Alaska, as John McCain’s running mate, Wasilla is moving full steam ahead in pushing this Second Bridge to Nowhere forward, in getting the plans approved, and the funds EAR MARKED before the Beluga Whale derails their beloved Pork Barrel Bridge to Wasilla.

For shit and giggles, watched the Republican Convention last night, and got a WHOLE LOT of giggles. Who are the McCain's and Palin's trying to fool here? For starters, lets start with Palin...how many know she SMOKED POT up through at least 2006? Don't get me wrong, I think marijuana should be legalized, but for someone claiming to be a BORN AGAIN, HOLIER THAN THOU CHRISTIAN, smoking pot seems just a bit hypocritical...but then, George Bush was Pro-Life dispite rumors that have him paying for his girlfriend's abortion back in his college days.

Next we have Cindy McCain, she of the wonderful video last night about ALL THE GOOD she has done with her wealth...like the $300,000 outfit she was wearing up on stage? I am sure she SO RELATES to the average American! Found it rather odd that she mentioned the charity she started, but failed to mention the FBI investigation of her for STEALING drugs from her own charity and sneaking them (smuggling) back into the country. She also has failed to tell us what strings her Senate husband pulled to have those charges DROPPED. In short, she was not only using drugs, she was a drug addict committing FELONIES to feed her habit...talk about FAMILY VALUES.

Then we have John McCain and his own affairs...after all, he was known as a boozer and a womanizer in the Navy, which is why he never attained the military success his father did. Funny how in the video about him they mention two of his planes crashes while leaving out the other two where he just crashed for NO APPARENT REASON...could it be he'd been flying after an all night BENDER?

Of course, the biggest laugh of the night, and of the convention is the McCain/Palin Energy policy, or the lack thereof. Drilling is not the answer. Even if we started drilling tomorrow we are looking at 5-7 years before seeing anything coming out of the ground in Alaska, and close to that time frame if doing off shore drilling. Where is the HELP right now in that? McCain and Palin are calling for the building of 40 new nuclear reactors by 2030...here is a FACT...that is an unattainable goal even if you do support nuclear power (which I do not). Simply stated, McCain's energy policy is the same failed Pro Oil industry agenda that was carried out under eight years of George W. Bush. Perhaps Sarah Palin can take the turd out of her mouth long enough to explain where she intends to STORE THE WASTE from 40 new nuclear power plants, and McCain can tell us how he intends to find the qualified employees to man those 40 new plants even if he could GET THEM UP AND RUNNING.

Everywhere one looks there seems to be poor judgement, disgusting family values, and criminal activity in the McCain/Palin Republican ticket...is that the best the Republican Party and their ultra conservative, rabidly religious right wing can offer up? If it is, it is no wonder why their party is in such disarray. Don't kid yourself America...when McCain calls us his friends, you need to put your hand over your wallet, and be leary of losing more civil liberties in the name of National Security.
