Just What is The Nuclear Industry Hiding In The DBT

Why is the NRC and NEI hiding the DBT (Design Basis Threat) from members of the public in STAKEHOLDER COMMUNITIES? Why aren't the citizens allowed to know the RISK THEY FACE if the NRC is going to relicense old antiquated terrorist targets for 20 more years? Could it be, that they do not want us to know just how poorly said reactor sites are protected? For instance, why is it that the NRC took 50 Caliber Rifles off the list of weapons Security Guards had to protect against AFTER A CLOSED DOOR MEETING WITH NEI? Why was the explosive laden Ryder Truck reduced down in size to a SUV...could it have something to do with the fact that anything BIGGER would actually do SERIOUS if not critical damage to the reactor Richard Barkley? The Green Nuclear Underground raises some serious questions as relates to the nuclear industry's inadequate DBT, their supposed Defense in Depth that leaves entire Reactor Communities in GRAVE PERIL should terrorist attempt an attack on a nuclear facility. This is even more so true when the NRC has admitted that the EVACUATION PLANS for reactor sites like Indian Point are critically flawed, will not work, and we will be ordered to Shelter In Place, even though Sheltering in Place only affords us a 40 percent level of protection from the radioactive contaminants that would be spewing from a successful attack on a reactor site...especially if the terrorists went for the spent fuel pools first.

Hey Richard Barkley....Still Waiting For that DBT Meeting

Some time ago I brought some serious concerns about the DBT to the attention of the NRC. After much delay and excuses, after being told at a public meeting on the record that my concerns would be addressed in a PRIVATE MEETING, I am still waiting. So am curious there Mr. Chairman of the NRC...when do I get to look at the DBT and have my concerns addressed? Meanwhile, from Green Nuclear Underground, a citizens imagination of what could be on the DBT that the NRC is not letting us see...just what RISKS are we facing from terrorists if they Relicense Indian Point. I think we have a right to know, have a right to see the DBT.

Hey NRC...What is in the DBT?

One of the big complaints that host communities have in being forced to host dangerous, failing reactors for another 20 years (besides the fact that they are American Chernoby's waiting to happen) is the fact we are not allow to have any real say in the DBT, nor any idea of what is or is not included in the DBT. Simply stated, we are left to our imaginations. Since the NRC will not honestly let us as Stakeholders know what SECURITY RISKS we face in the event of a terrorist attack, since we do not know what the SLEEPING GUARDS can actually protect against, thought I'd share a few weapons that MIGHT be on the DBT...maybe the NRC will realize truth and open honesty with HOST COMMUNITIES is far less dangerous than our run away imaginations...or not.

U.S. Air Force Capt. Drew F. Goettler, of the Air Force Research Laboratory' Directed Energy Directorate, demonstrates the Personnel Halting and Stimulation Response, or PHaSR, a non-lethal illumination technology developed by the laboratory's ScorpWorks team. Air Force courtesy photo...what do you think folks? In the DBT? Or maybe they have these at Indian Point. (No, Entergy is TO CHEAP!)

KIRTLAND AIR FORCE BASE, N.M., Nov. 1, 2005 – A laser technology being developed by Air Force Research Laboratory employees at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., will be the first man-portable, non-lethal deterrrent weapon intended for protecting troops and controlling hostile crowds...Can see Neil Sheehan ordering a couple of dozen!

The weapon, developed by the laboratory's Directed Energy Directorate, employs a two-wavelength laser system and is the first of its kind as a hand-held, single-operator system for troop and perimeter defense.

The laser light used in the weapon temporarily impairs aggressors by illuminating or "dazzling" individuals, removing their ability to see the laser source.

Special Operations Forces Demolition Kit
(SOFDK)

SOFDK

The SOFDK contains a variety of inert items that, when field loaded, provide Special Operations Forces with the capability to tailor charges to the target by using SDK components and C4 or other moldable explosives. The kit provides several methods of attaching charges/munitions to targets. The overall intent is to allow the operator to construct the smallest, lightest charge feasible with the greatest standoff distance attainable and maximum precision. I have a question....how can this type of stuff be put up on EASILY ACCESSIBLE PUBLIC WEB SITES, but we cannot see the DBT? Could it be the NRC does not want Host Communities to know just how PATHETIC Reactor Site Security is?

My FAVORITE:

Rapid Wall Breaching Kit (RWBK)

RWBK

RBWK addresses an immediate need to give Soldiers wall breaching capability in urban and complex terrain. It supports performance demolition missions across the full range of operations. The RWBK is man-portable, rapidly deployable and creates a man-size hole to gain forced entry into buildings. Each kit will contain explosive, ignition material, attachment devices and a rebar cutter. Hey Richard Barkley, how much of a chance does a CINDER BLOCK SPENT FUEL POOL HAVE AGAINST A RBWK? Is such a kit included in the DBT?

Are Commercial Reactor Host Communities Being Exposed To Cancer Causing Tritium in Name of Thermonuclear Bombs?

Just in from the Green Nuclear Underground...are American's Commercial Nuclear Reactor Communities being wrongfully exposed to Tritium, is the NRC deliberately down playing the significance of Tritium releases into the environment in the name of America's Thermonuclear arsenal?

The Commercial Nuclear War Machine Rumbles On...The Ugly Tritium Truth

FIRST NUCLEAR SUB IN NEW YORK HARBOR
It has been the contention of this author (for decades) that you cannot separate the Commercial Nuclear Industry from the Military Nuclear Industry as they are equal parts of the whole that is the Siamese Demon Spawn that is the Commercial/Military Complex. I came to this conclusion early in the 80's as my knowledge base on the Gaseous Diffusion plants in Paducah Kentucky and Portsmouth Ohio increased, was solidified when I drove around the Portsmouth Facility, saw the miles upon miles of stacked up, rusting barrels of Depleted Uranium.

I've felt all along that the Anti Nuclear Groups needed to JOIN FORCES with those who opposed Nuclear Weapons, have bemoaned the lack of worry the Anti-Nuclear Weapons folks have given to commercial nuclear reactors....especially in the last say ten years as the NRC races to rubber stamp the License Renewal Applications of America's 104 Ancient Nuclear Behemoths, failed reactors left over from a failed nuclear legacy that the DOD, DOE, NRC and the nuclear industry desperately want to keep up and running to save the industry, and...COULD IT BE THE UNITED STATES NUCLEAR ARSENAL?

PAY ATTENTION FOLKS

One of the BIGGEST problems that the NRC has been ignoring of late is the TRITIUM leaking from an ever increasing number of American Reactor sites. The latest example of this was the UNDERGROUND PIPE RUPTURE at Indian Point on February 21st of this year. The licensee estimates some 100,000 gallons of tritiated water RUSHED into the Hudson River as a result of this significant accident. The NRC Propaganda Team was quick to rush out to the medium with their patented, "No harm no foul" message that stakeholders were never in any immediate danger. (Notice the slick use of the word IMMEDIATE?) Further, the NRC, NEI and the entire nuclear industry are going to a whole lot of trouble to MAKE AMERICANS COMFORTABLE with Tritium LEAKING INTO OUR ENVIRONMENT...WHY?

GOD, WHAT A BRILLIANT QUESTION!

First, how many of you knew that the DOE/DOD used to operate two Military Reactors whose sole purpose was the PRODUCTION OF TRITIUM?...DOES THAT HAVE YOUR ATTENTION?

How many of you knew that those two reactors were permanently closed down in the early 90's for SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS?

Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen used to enhance the explosive yield of every thermonuclear weapon. Tritium has a radioactive decay rate of 5.5% per year and has not been produced in this country for weapons purposes since 1988 when the K Reactor at Savannah River Site in South Carolina was shut down for safety reasons.

COME ON FOLKS, THINK FAST, THIS IS GETTING FUN!

Tritium's decay rate of 5.5 percent a year means that THERMONUCLEAR WEAPONS NEED TO BE RECHARGED on a FAIRLY REGULAR BASIS...the only place to get Tritium is from the operation of NUCLEAR REACTORS! ARE YOU SEEING THE LIGHT BULB YET?

Where are armies of citizens into the tens of thousands storming to the gates of every Nuclear Reactor Site in America that is LEAKING TRITIUM...we are being poisoned for THE WAR WHORES!

Under Who Gives A Shit...Actor Paul Newman Dies

Actor Paul Newman has died of cancer...who cares, and why the news channel forcing garbage down our throats about this GREAT MAN? Did it occur to them that we don't want to hear it, that he was not so GREAT as to mention him every five minutes during the 24 hour news cycle!

Many lost ALL RESPECT for the man because of his vile support for a nuclear industry that kills Americans, causes untold thousands, if not millions of latent cancers here in America, and around the world. The last shreads of any respect left for the once talented actor rain down the drain when he did a PHOTO OP at the aging Indain Point nuclear reactors that are leaking tritium and strontium 90, and pronounced them vital safe and secure.

Suppose there is a certain justice that he died of cancer.
