George W. Bush...Start Pulling American Troops Out Now

For those of you following the Security Agreement fight between Iraq and our government that would see our troops staying in Iraq through at least 2011, it is obvious that the Iraq's ARE NOT OUR FRIENDS...so, FUCK THEM, fuck their country. The time has come to bring our troops home and let Iraq stand or fall on its own...we, as I have pointed out before, could always put troops in Northern Iraq, and support the Turks push for an independent Kurdistan. First, we have Iraq demanding more control over OUR TROOPS. Secondly, they want to tie our troops hands by denying them the right to attack terrorists and other nations when they are sending troops into Iraq to attack us. This second point is huge in light of Turkey's recent aerial attacks into Iraq...we have an obligation to protect the Kurds. Lastly, they want our troops subject to Iraq law whenever they are not on duty...sorry, but that last point alone should be enough to allow our troops the right to refuse duty in Iraq. We do not deny our citizens due process, and WE MUST NOT DENY OUR TROOPS DUE PROCESS. Iraq wants to play games...fine, lets pull the plug on this social experiment gone bad, and bring our troops home.

Iraq Outlines Changes It Wants in Pact With U.S.

BAGHDAD -- Iraq wants a security agreement with the U.S. to include a clear ban on U.S. troops using Iraqi territory to attack Iraq's neighbors, the government spokesman said Wednesday, three days after a dramatic U.S. raid on Syria.

Also Wednesday, the country's most influential Shiite cleric expressed concerned that Iraqi sovereignty be protected in the pact. Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani wields vast influence among the Shiite majority and his explicit opposition could scuttle the deal.

Government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said the ban was among four proposed amendments to the draft agreement approved by the Cabinet this week and forwarded to the U.S.

White House press secretary Dana Perino said U.S. negotiators in Iraq are closely reviewing the new amendments from the Iraqis to see if they are acceptable to the administration.

Al-Dabbagh said the Iraqis want the right to declare the agreement null and void if the U.S. unilaterally attacks one of Iraq's neighbors.

U.S. troops launched a daring daylight attack Sunday a few miles into Syrian territory against what U.S. officials said was a key figure in al-Qaida's operation that moves foreign fighters and weapons into Iraq.

A senior U.S. official said the al-Qaida figure, an Iraqi known as Abu Ghadiyah, was killed. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the raid was classified. Syria says eight civilians died and has demanded an apology.

For nearly two weeks, Iraqi politicians have been considering the draft security agreement, which would keep U.S. troops in Iraq through 2011 unless both sides agree that they could stay longer.

The pact would also give the Iraqis a greater role in supervising U.S. military operations and allow Iraqi courts to try U.S. soldiers and contractors accused of major crimes off duty and off base.

But critics say the current version, reached after months of tough negotiations, does not go far enough in protecting Iraqi sovereignty, and key Shiite politicians argue it stands little chance of approval in Iraq's fractious parliament in its current form.

Are American Troops Dying in Afghanistan For Acceptable Dictatorship?

Maybe it is time to bring our troops home from both Afghanistan and Iraq. According to a leaked Diplomatic cable, it seems some think the war in Afghanistan is not winnable, and that the public should be prepared to accept the reality that the best course is installing and ACCEPTABLE DICTATOR. Is it just me, or is the United States crazy to sacrifice our soldiers just so an ACCEPTABLE DICTATOR can be put in power in Afghanistan?

Acceptable Dictator?

A coded French diplomatic cable leaked to a French newspaper quotes the British ambassador in Afghanistan as predicting that the NATO-led military campaign against the Taliban will fail. That was not all. The best solution for the country, the ambassador said, would be installing an "acceptable dictator," according to the newspaper.

"The current situation is bad, the security situation is getting worse, so is corruption, and the government has lost all trust," the British envoy, Sherard Cowper-Coles, was quoted as saying by the author of the cable, François Fitou, the French deputy ambassador to Kabul.

The two-page cable - which was sent to the Élysée Palace and the French Foreign Ministry on Sept. 2, and was leaked to the investigative and satirical weekly Le Canard Enchaîné, which printed excerpts in its Wednesday issue - said the NATO-led military presence was making it harder to stabilize the country.

"The presence of the coalition, in particular its military presence, is part of the problem, not part of its solution," Cowper-Coles was quoted as saying. "Foreign forces are the lifeline of a regime that would rapidly collapse without them. As such, they slow down and complicate a possible emergence from the crisis."

Within five to 10 years, the only "realistic" way to unite Afghanistan would be for it to be "governed by an acceptable dictator," the cable said, adding, "We should think of preparing our public opinion" for such an outcome. Rest of story here.

Is So Called Victory In Iraq Worth Destroying America Over?

To listen to John McCain, we are winning in Iraq...SO WHAT? At what cost to America and its citizens back home? We are caught in a MEAT GRINDER in the Middle East. We are bringing our troops from the surge home...for what? To send them over to Afghanistan to die fighting on a different front in the same failed war while things heat back up in Iraq? We were winning the war in Afghanistan, then we took our eyes off the ball and sent our fine fighting troops into Iraq where over 4,000 soldiers have died, and tens of thousands more have been maimed for life. We are being told the surge is working, and that we are reducing the number of troops in Iraq, bringing them home, but they are NOT STAYING HOME. Further, lets not forget the price tag just in REAL TIME DOLLARS...the actual cost of the war including retooling, and the medical, disability costs over the next 20 years runs well over $10 trillion dollars, and is growing each day as we finance the war on credit.

Bring the troops home, put them on our Southern Border with Mexico, use them to forciably deport those here illegally. It's time we start rebuilding our own nation, restoring our nation to its former glory, rather than wasting our wealth and our honor in the desert sands of an unappreciative nation in the Middle East.
