The more reading I do on the bailout, the angrier I get...for starters, it is easy to see what the Republicans wanted...another AVENUE TO CREATE RICHES for the already UBER RICH. Read the fine print that makes MORTGAGE INSURANCE MANDATORY as a part of the statute. Simply stated, this means everyone of us that goes out to get a mortgage will now be FORCED TO PAY A FEE to cover an insurance policy that protects the UBER RICH from themselves should greed take hold again in the future (which it will). AIG went bankrupt, needed a $80 Billion dollar bailout because they had offered this EXACT SAME INSURANCE! Now, to stop a similiar crisis in the future, some shrewd Insurance Company Lobbyist have convinced Washington that this crisis would not be here if only they'd been able to make every homeowner purchase a mortgage failure policy...ask yourselves who benefits? NOT THE HOMEOWNER!
Further, why is the United States of American bailing out foreign countries and their banks (LIKE CHINA)? Let other countries bail out their own financial institutions...if HSBC or other lending institutes is on the ropes, let their home country step up to the plate.
As American Citizens, we have ONE SHOT at changing this bill! The Lobbyist had a field day last week, are sitting back licking their chops as they laugh at our stupidity. We need to take this CORPORATION PORK BARREL BILL and ram it back up the ASS of Congress and tell them THANKS BUT NO THANKS, go back to the drawing board.
