The Bush administration issued a pair of secret memos to the CIA in 2003 and 2004 that explicitly endorsed the agency's use of interrogation techniques such as waterboarding against al-Qaeda suspects -- documents prompted by worries among intelligence officials about a possible backlash if details of the program became public.

The classified memos, which have not been previously disclosed, were requested by then-CIA Director George J. Tenet more than a year after the start of the secret interrogations, according to four administration and intelligence officials familiar with the documents. Although Justice Department lawyers, beginning in 2002, had signed off on the agency's interrogation methods, senior CIA officials were troubled that White House policymakers had never endorsed the program in writing.

In the past say 18 months we have watched the United States Economy unravel, have watched as our mortgages became upside-down, watched as our life savings invested in 401K’s have been devastated, and in some cases made worthless. We have sat in our living rooms stunned as our governments refused to take adequate action against Illegal Aliens that were lowering our wage base, decimating our incomes, stealing our jobs. As the United States Congress tried to ram an Amnesty down our throats we shook our heads in disbelief that our elected officials refused to abide by the wishes of the majority. Against our will, the House of Representatives approved a bailout that will eventually cost us as taxpayers trillions of dollars. Many of us have slid into depression as the stock market crashed, sat in our living rooms mourning as the DOW Jones plummeted under the 9000 mark. Can we be blamed when we ask, “My country, why have thou abandoned me?”

George W. Bush and his advisors including Secretary Paulson are telling us to remain calm that they are working at finding solutions, telling us to be patient and give their bailout a chance to work. With each passing day another pundit such as Ali Velshi trots out in front of the cameras telling us everything is going to be all right, assuring us that we have almost HIT BOTTOM.

What has not been talking about, is those of us who have been destroyed through no fault of our own, where is our bailout? Is it fair that the least deserving in this crisis are being made whole, while the rest of us (the middle class) are asked to pick up the pieces, are asked to sacrifice, asked to tighten up our belts, grin and bear the fact that we are being asked to pay the bill for those who either A) through greed have robbed us blind and crashed our economy, or B) secured mortgages that they could never afford.

If we roll AIG into the mix, the bailout of Wall Street is already costing us as taxpayers right at $1 trillion dollars. In addition to this, we have the FED taking over failed banks, and offering to recapitalize others. Secretary Paulson announced the other day that the treasury would now start lending money on the short market. Additionally, there is a plan afoot to buy mortgages (bad paper) at FACE VALUE from those holding it, then renegotiating a new mortgage on the lowered value of the home with a fixed rate 30 year loan with those in foreclosure. What about the rest of us? It is those very mortgages and foreclosure that have lowered our home values to the point where we are not in upside-down mortgages. Where is the fairness and justice for all in rewarding those who caused the mess while doing nothing for those of us that have paid the ultimate price for their misdeeds and stupidity?

This crisis has already cost our retirement account over $300,000 dollars, and our home has lost over $100,000 in equity. What had seemed like a perfect road to retirement at 60 is now a pathway to a nightmare of broken dreams and promises, a working life that will now have to be extended for years, perhaps even more than a decade. We actually heard John McCain the other day say that our Social Security Benefits (our entitlements) will have to be cut, scaled back as we all pitch in to get through these turbulent times. Excuse me, but each time we get a paycheck, there is a deduction from our pay that is supposed to be matched by our employer and put into a SAFE AND SECURE fund so that we have a safety net, a guaranteed income in our Golden Years. As of today, we have been paying into that fund for almost 40 years! We were told, we were promised by the Social Security Administration that our funds were secure, and based on our contributions; we would receive some $2100 a month in retirement if we retired at the age of 64. Now we are being told, “Sorry Charlie, we lied to you, we have squandered away your security.”

Again, where is our bailout, where is a fund meant to make us whole? Where is the Congress in passing emergency legislation that lets us write these losses off of our taxes this year? Where is a fund, or a plan to renegotiate our mortgages based on the current depressed values of our homes? Where is emergency legislation that allows us to take money out of our 401K’s and Retirement funds without penalties? Where is emergency legislation to change bankruptcy laws, and to put and end to predatory interest rates and fees being charged by credit card companies? Simply stated, when is our government going to bring parity, fairness and justice to the table, when is our government going to take action to make those of us who have played by the rules whole again?

The Stock Market... What If This is a Deliberately Caused Crisis of Confidence?

I woke up late this morning to find the Stock Market is yet again taking a blood bath as the Middle Class gets hurt further. As I always do, I went into the kitchen for my morning coffee, checked my email, and then a thought occurred to me. What if Bush, Corporate America, The National Chamber of Commerce, Lobbyist, and even the National Press are playing us? What if the crash of the real estate market, our lost home equity, our losses in the market are ONE LAST CASH GRAB by the UBER RICH and the Right Wing of the Republican Party as they are on the verge of being swept out of office?

The old adage says what goes up must come down, but conversely in real estate and the Stock Exchange, history shows us that what goes down will eventually bounce back and go up. The UBER RICH are not selling during this nose dive, they are buying, and like nobodies business. Look at Warren Buffett, the man has been a man on a mission, swooping in like a predatory bird of prey, plucking up bargains one after the other at bargain basement prices. Our own government is using our money, over $700 trillion dollars worth of it and buying up bad assets...which, they will in turn eventually sell to the UBER RICH.

I am beginning to believe, that this is an ORCHESTRATED transfer of wealth back up to the upper class, a means of collecting up enough assets and wealth to keep us oppressed and in our places, creating a bad enough economy that we will do anything just to have a job, any job in a faltering/failing job market, including giving up our hard earned benefits, accepting drastic cuts in our pay.

Look back over the past 18-24 months, and my theory is not so far fetched. Do you know what CRASHED the real estate industry, what caused all those mortgages go into foreclosure? INCREASED INTEREST RATES...those people who lost their homes were FINE when they were paying interest rates in the 4-5 percent range, but when those veritable rates kicked in (which WERE TIED TO THE FED) and their payments started increasing by hundreds of dollars a month again, and again they could not keep up with the payments. Does not take a learned man, nor a scholar to have seen this one coming. Which begs the question...if the common man on the street could see this coming, how could some of the brightest minds on Wall Street not? Or MAYBE, just maybe they DID SEE IT COMING!

Let's look at something else...Social Security. Our Federal Government has robbed the fund for decades, taking our contributions each and every week and stealing them away to pay off other debts. This stealing of our funds left the Social Security weak and ready to crumble just when 75 Million Boomers who had paid into it were getting ready to move from the work force into retirement. We Boomers had followed the rules, put our money into the stock market via mutual funds and our 401K's, and were ready to enjoy our Golden Years. Problem was, the government did not have the money to meet their commitments to us, actually needed us to stay in the work force LONGER to keep Social Security from going bankrupt...problem was, we had played the game well enough, had invested enough that we had PLENTY OF MONEY to retire with, were even considering retiring EARLY, drawing down on our 401K's till Social Security kicked in.

What to do, what to do...CRASH THE MARKET, ROB US OF OUR NEST EGGS! Look at the news, see the painful look on the faces of the Boomers who are now saying they are not going to be ABLE TO RETIRE, are going to have to keep working, at least for a few extra years!

The icing on the cake? The Republcians have known since the 2006 Election cycle that they were going to be swept out of office, were going to lose the White House in 2008. The Republicans knew that Democrats would ROLL BACK George Bush's tax cuts on the UBER RICH, would pass laws that strengthened the safety net that the Republicans had dismantled since they seized control of power back in 1994 with Newt Gingrich's well time implementation of a Grand Republican Plan. Look at the bitterness and anger within the Republican Party...they are losing their stranglehold on America, losing their ability to steer policy, to shape our courts, to enact into law their morality. Like a child throwing a temper tantrum have they deviously decided to WRECK THE AMERICAN NATION before giving it back to the Democrats?

Since 9/11 the Republicans have used FEAR to manipulate and govern us...this entire crisis is being driven by fear. We have pundits and mass media financial experts telling us we should not have any money in the market that we might need in the next five too ten years. We have the media instructing us to put money into FEDERAL BONDS (which is how the money is raised to bailout Wall Street!) Think about it, they have us pulling our money out of the stock market to drive the prices on Wall Street further down while at the same time convincing us we need to go out and put our money in Federal Bonds that are being sold to BAILOUT WALL STREET, while at the same time, the titans of the CASH IS KING WORLD are racing back in and snatching up all of this DEPRESSED PAPER!

WAKE UP AMERICA, we are being ROBBED, and it is a very deliberate, calculated game plan meant to oppress and enslave us.

Dow Down Almost 500 Points! It's The Economy STUPID

The BLOOD BATH continues on Wall Street as McCain and Palin toss red herrings to the crowd out on the Campaign trail. Hello, the DOW is significantly below 10,000, the DOW is far below where it was when George W. Bush took office eight years ago. John McCain has voted with the George W. Bush Administration 93 percent of the time in those EIGHT YEARS. Ask yourselves America, "Are you better off now than when George W. Bush took office?" Ask yourselves America, "Do you really want four more years of the George W. Bush economic agenda? Can you afford four more years of the George W. Bush economic agenda?"

In the mean time, how many Americans understand that the FED has actually implemented today a SECOND WALL STREET BAILOUT, completely separate from the first? If they are wrong, your money IS WORTHLESS, your savings is WORTHLESS, your 401 K's are WORTHLESS, and you will be saddled with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt as your share of these two bailouts!

OK folks, lets all draw our own conclusions, or maybe some reporter at the Washington Post will pick this up and do the research that my limited resources do not allow me. I started pulling on a string this evening, and something is not right. What I am wondering is this, "Are certain Republican families (IE..Bush and McCain) getting VERY RICH being and running for President of the United States, collecting a commission on every piece of political propaganda (buttons, hats, shirts, yard signs) printed and distributed across the United States of America?

Clicking on Gop stuff, you'll find as one example http://www.mccainblogettestore.com/ which sells propaganda materials UNDER A LICENSE granted to them by John McCain's daugher Meghan who has been BLOGGING her father's election, supposedly because she is a socially concerned young woman.
