The President has taken responsibility for the AIG bonuses. He states he does so because the buck stops with him, but more likely because he was the instigator in including the language in the stimulus bill that allowed them in the first place. Why, you might ask; for the result he has achieved, the outrage against the "rich," of course, the class warfare necessary to force the remainder of his agenda on all working Americans. Beware.
AIG is not the problem, it is a symptom of the problem; the problem lies with our supposed representatives in Congress. They knew exactly what they were doing with AIG. They also knew the outrage would be focused on AIG. Yes, they will take some momentary heat, but ultimately the focus and blame will be directed to those AIG employees receiving the bonuses. That is not to say the bonuses were justified, personally I do not believe they were, but the opportunity to stop them existed and was passed on. What nefarious reason would cause that? Time will tell.
