What If Obama Does Not Win?

As Election Day is racing down upon us, I am cautiously optimistic that Obama will be our next president...but, I am leery. Remember the 2000 Presidential Election that Al Gore won, the one that George W. Bush (with the help of the Supreme Court) stole from us? What about the 2004 Election that some feel was stolen with some odd irregularities in the state of Ohio?

The Republicans are down, but they are not out, and they have a very devious and dark bag of tricks that they are not above pulling out to RIG THIS ELECTION. As example, just look at the Ayars Robo Calls sweeping across must win states. Look at Sarah Palin fanning old prejudices, deliberately encouraging her followers to spew hate speech against Obama. Here in New York absentee ballots went out with the name of Barack Osama instead of Obama. Officials claimed it was an innocent typo....hello, look at the location of the B and S on your keyboard, and it is obvious that it was not an innocent typographical error. Even a official GOP web site put up material calling for the Water Boarding of Obama, comparing him to Osama Bin Laden.

Which begs the question, what will happen if Obama does not win the Presidential Election, what if McCain is elected under a dark cloud of suspicion? Will we see riots in the street? Would our Democracy in its current fragile form fracture and fall apart? Would John McCain have to order our troops into the streets of America and declare Marshall Law in an attempt to restore order. Could we see America as a nation cease to exist as Blue States, tired of the deceit decide to go their own way, and if so, at what cost. Could there be open revolt, even a second civil war within the borders of our nation? Did we not just hear Sarah Palin say she likes to visit the parts of our country that truly believe in America, are Pro American?

Perhaps I have grown to jaded in my waning years, but I am not going to believe in an Obama victory until he is officially pronounced the victor, until he has officially been sworn in and taken office. Something in my gut has me believing that George W. Bush, the Republican Party are going to do something, no matter how vile and repugnant to keep the White House in Republican hands.
